COST
It is our joy to be a non-profit organization and offer our services free of charge to families in need. By God's grace we get to shoulder with our generous donors to bring hope and a smile to each child's face.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION
Our main requirement is that the child wants to come. While we do not wish to turn any child away, there are a limited number of sessions available each month. Although we cannot guarantee a session for every child who wants one, RYR does its best to accommodate as many participants as possible. We also understands that every child has his or her own unique challenges and our session leaders work hard to adapt sessions to meet the needs of each individual child. Our sessions are open to all children ages 7 to 17. On occasion, based on need, age exceptions are considered.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS/CARETAKERS
We require that a child's parent, guardian or approved caretaker be on the property at all times during their child's session. During a child's session adults and siblings or friends are welcome to enjoy the ranch. Some options include:
- Enjoy any of the sitting areas around the ranch to read, pray or relax.
- Take a walk around the property and enjoy the scenery.
- Watch your child(ren) ride during their session. We do ask that you watch from a distance and help us maintain a one-on-one relationship with your child.
- Taking pictures is permitted and encouraged. Again, we ask parents to use discernment regarding giving space to their child and leader during a session.
- Play or be involved on the upper lawn with your kids who are not in session. Please keep these children with you at all times. You are welcome to use the swing or toy box.
- Visit the horses. We invite you to meet them over the fence. However, please do not enter the paddocks or feed any treats to the horses without a RYR leader present.
clothing/APPAREL/equipment
- Shoes/boots with closed toes and closed heels are required. Shoes/boots with a heel and little or no tread are recommended.
- Long pants are highly recommended for riding.
- Nothing is permitted to be hanging down around the neck or tied around the waist while riding.
- To promote individual responsibility, we recommend that kids bring their own water bottle and sunscreen.
