Where it all began...
The heart of this organization is the idea of Redemption. Redemption Youth Ranch is meant to bring joy from sorrow, freedom to captives, and to spread the light of Christ to all who attend. Each member of the team has a different skill with which they will bring forth to unite and fulfill this dream. Our common goal: To take this unfinished land where Roxy and her brother Tim grew up that has seen much pain and sorrow, and restore and redeem it for good. Although there is much more than one story to this place, there is only one God sewing it all together.
A little girls dream...
Coming from an abusive childhood and having an amazing horse that led her away to safety when life was too much, Roxy dreamed of a day when she could combine an orphanage and an animal shelter; matching each child with their very own animal. This little girl's dream soon got pushed aside as she grew up. However, unbeknownst to her, God didn’t forget. In fact, He was the one who gave her that dream. God continued to mold, shape, and equip her for the dream He would one day revive. In August 2012, while racing horseback through the Tennessee backwoods, a feeling came over Roxy like nothing she had ever experienced before. Everything felt right to the core of her soul; this is what she was born to do. In a meager attempt to be around horses she googled “Christian horse ministry” and God led her to Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. Kim and Troy Meeder’s ranch rescued and rehabilitated abused and neglected horses, uniting them with hurting children so both horse and child could heal. This was it! Roxy’s two loves were united and her childhood dream ignited. The kicker: God has called her back to her childhood home so He could restore and redeem what was lost not only for her, but for any other child who needs it.
